Softening your skin before shaving is a must. You don’t want to dry razor dead skin, so make sure your skin is soft enough before shaving. Run yourself a warm bath and soak in it for a while. Once you feel your skin is soft and smooth, feel free to start shaving.

2. Exfoliate

It’s always better to get rid of the dead skin cells by exfoliating than to let them clog up your razor while shaving. Use an exfoliating glove and/or a body scrub and a cloth to exfoliate before shaving.

3. Use a Shaving Cream or Gel

Even though there are so many scented shaving creams for women, the truth is that there isn’t a huge difference between these and those for men. Men shaving creams are amazing moisturizers, so use one of those if you have particularly dry skin. Avoid using aftershaves, for they can irritate your skin and cause a nasty rash. Use products with aloe vera or a lubricating shaving gel for the most sensitive regions.

4. Find a Good Razor

It’s going to be a while before you find the perfect razor. If you have sensitive skin, it would be a good idea to use a razor that has lubricated strips. Talk to your friends and ask them to recommend a few. If you’re still not sure which one to try out – the Gillette Venus might work.

5. Change Razors

There’s no better way to get a nick than by using a dull blade. Change your blades on a regular basis and never borrow another person’s razor.

6. Moisturize

Shaving will dry out your skin, so it’s important to rehydrate it after shaving. Use a moisturizer or oil to moisturize. If you feel like certain parts are too dry, apply some extra baby oil to those areas.
